WDA Role

Concept & Planning (on-going)

WDA were appointed by the Wells Cathedral School for this exciting commission following the practice’s engagement with the award winning Cedar’s Hall project, whereby WDA provided the Client Monitoring services alongside the school’s executive architect (Eric Parry Architects). The Science Quarter project is the result of a year long feasibility study undertaken by WDA, which identified the site of the existing science cabins and teaching facilities as a strategic location for both junior and senior science teaching facilities in a new, two storey, state of the art flexible teaching space. The concept design was conceived as a highly contemporary, low slung linear ribbon of new teaching accommodation set behind an existing listed stone boundary wall in order to respect the rich heritage of the central campus location.
